Sydney Tower.
Du haut, tres belle vue a 360 degres de toute la ville de Sydney et des environs. / From the top, beautiful 360 degree view over Sydney and its surroundings.

Traversee d'un grand magasin, rayon cosmetiques. Me voici assise a me faire maquiller. On fait des choses surprenantes en vacances. / Crossing a department store, through the cosmetics section. Here I am, sitting on a stool, having make-up put on. You do surprising stuff on holidays.
Darling harbour.
Tres commercial mais tres agreable, d'autant qu'il fait tres beau. / Retail and food courts but very pleasant, all the more so since the weather is beautiful.
Chinese Gardens

Depaysant, reposant. Jolie balade. / Different, peaceful. A nice stroll.
Sydney Wildlife World
Papillons, serpents, araignees, marsupiaux. Comme la nuit tombe, je rate les oiseaux et le wombat. Bizarrement, je ne vois pas les casoars, ces oiseaux sont pourtant grands. / Butterflies, snakes, spiders, marsupials. Because the night is falling, I miss the birds and the wombat. Oddly enough, I can't see the cassowaries, although they are big birds.

Royal Botanic Gardens
Tres beaux, reposants. Beaucoup d'especes differentes, certaines rares ou en voie de disparition. Certains arbres sont couverts de chauve-souris. D'autres arbres ont le tronc en partie couvert d'une feuille de plastique pour empecher les oppossums de grimper et de faire des degats. / Very beautiful, peaceful. A lot of different species, some of them rare or endangered. Some trees are covered with bats. Other trees have part of their trunk wrapped with a plastic sheet so that possums won't climb and damage the trees.

Art Gallery of New South Wales
Principalement des peintures des 19e, 20e et 21e siecles. Artistes australiens aborigenes, asiatiques et europeens (Fernand Leger, Picasso, Bacon). / Mainly paintings of the 19th, 20th and 21 st centuries. Australian, Aboriginal, Asian and European artists.
Balade de nuit dans Sydney en compagnie de 3 autres "routards" de l'auberge. Tres agreable mais froid, tres froid. / Night walk through Sydney with 3 other backpackers from the hostel. Very nice but cold, very cold.

Glebe market
Marche de Glebe, un quartier de Sydney. Ambiance a la cool, un peu hippie. Tres sympa. / Glebe is one of Sydney neighbourhoods. The market has a very laid-back atmosphere with a hippie feel. Very friendly.
Bronte-Bondi
Marche le long de la cote entre Bronte et Bondi, 2 plages. Il fait beau mais froid, pourtant il y a pas mal de surfers et certains se baignent avec un simple maillot. / Coastal walk between Bronte and Bondi, 2 beaches. The weather is beautiful but cold and yet, there are quite a few surfers and some people are swimming, wearing regular swimsuits.

Vol et 1er jour / Flight and 1st day

Vol retarde de plus d'une heure a Paris en raison des orages a Londres. A Londres, course vers la porte d'embarquement... Vol retarde. Escale courte a Singapour. Vol dans de bonnes conditions. Pas de voisin entre Londres et Singapour.
Sydney. Pas de sac. Au guichet, on me dit que cela est recurrent depuis quelque temps : "Ne prenez pas d'avion passant par Heathrow." Dommage, j'ai deja le billet retour et Heathrow est sur la route. Personne n'est tres optimiste. Une bonne semaine avant de recuperer le bagage semble etre le delai. Si c'est le cas, mon sac arrivera quand je ne serai plus a Sydney...
1eres heures a Sydney. Je peux faire ce pourquoi je suis venue ici = aller au K-Mart (supermatche bon marche) pour m'acheter chaussettes, culottes et pyjama les moins chers possible.
Balade jusqu'a l'Opera House et visite de celui-ci. Curieux d'etre a cote puis dans ce qui etait jusqu'ici une image typique, une carte postale.
La fatigue se fait sentir. A 20h30, je dors deja.

N.B. pas de photo pour l'instant, le cable de liaison appareil-photo/ordi etant dans mon sac.

Flight delayed by more than one hour in Paris due to thunderstorms in London. Once in London, I ran to the gate... flight delayed. Rather quick stop in Singapore. Overall, good flight conditions. I had no neighbour between London and Singapore.
Sydney. No backpack. At the baggage service counter, I'm told it's happened regularly fro seom time now: "Don't take planes flying through Heathrow Airport." Too bad, my return ticket includes this airport. No one is really optimistic. It seems that one week is the usual waiting period before retrieving one's luggage. If that's the case, my bag will arrive when I'm no longer in Sydney...
1st hours in Sydney. I can do what I came over for: shoppping at a K-Mart to buy the cheapest as possible socks, briefs and pyjamas .
Strolling to the Opera House then visiting it. Strange to be next to and then inside what had been some kind of postcard until now.
I'm starting to get tired. At 8.30 pm, I'm already asleep.
